SACR (Software Analyst Cyber Research) is hiring a Senior Manager of Accounting to support the financial operations of a growing AI-native cybersecurity research firm.
This role reports directly to the CEO and works closely with the Director of Operations, SACR.

Compensation
Total Compensation: (commensurate with experience)
- Base Salary: Competitive, paid in accordance with SACR’s regular payroll practices
- Equity: You’ll own meaningful equity into the business as a leader. Eligible after 4-month probationary period

Position & Responsibilities
You will serve as Senior Manager, Accounting supporting SACR’s financial operations across bookkeeping, payroll coordination, compliance, and reporting. Your core responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Accounting & Bookkeeping
- Build and own the company’s accounting function from the ground up
- Own end-to-end accounting function and financial close process
- Managing accounts payable and receivable (AP/AR)
- Performing monthly reconciliations and maintaining accurate financial records
- Establish financial systems, workflows, and reporting infrastructure
- Design and implement internal controls and financial policies
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting
- Oversee audit processes and external auditor relationships
- Drive budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning
- Build and maintain scalable accounting systems and controls
- Partner with CEO on financial strategy and decision support
Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Manage and mentor junior accounting staff; provide oversight, training, and performance guidance
- Partner cross-functionally with operations, HR, and leadership to align financial processes with business needs
- Serve as the primary finance point of contact across the organization, translating financial insights into actionable decisions
Payroll & HR Finance Support
- Coordinating payroll processing in collaboration with the HR team
- Supporting administration of SACR’s HRIS and payroll platform (Deel)
- Tracking contractor invoices, Upwork payments, and vendor disbursements
Compliance & Reporting
- Ensuring compliance with applicable Canadian and US tax and regulatory requirements
- Preparing and filing HST/GST returns and other statutory obligations
- Supporting budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow monitoring
Systems & Process
- Maintaining organized financial documentation and records
- Identifying opportunities to improve financial processes and internal controls
- Supporting finance-related onboarding for new hires and vendors
Duties may evolve over time to reflect business needs.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of accounting or finance experience
- CPA designation or active candidacy strongly preferred
- Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, or similar)
- Experience with payroll platforms (Deel, ADP, or Rippling is an asset)
- Familiarity with cross-border (Canada/US) tax compliance is an asset
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently in a fast-moving environment
