San Francisco CISO Dinner Highlights​

The dinner centered on the evolving landscape of cloud attacks and how the industry arrived at the current state. Discussion focused on the shift from traditional, static security models toward dynamic, runtime protection. Attendees explored how legacy tools, fragmented visibility, and alert overload contributed to gaps that modern cloud security must now address. The group reviewed the progression from firewalls and EDR to CWPP, CNAPP, and finally CDR, emphasizing how runtime has become the live control plane for detection, context, and automated response.

The evening featured guest speaker Kathy Del Gesso, CISO of OKX, a security leader with deep experience building and managing comprehensive security, privacy, and compliance programs for pre-IPO and public companies operating in highly regulated sectors.
